How to get vines in Deep Dish Dungeon

I separated vines from the brown roots you cut with an axe. TechRaptor’s opening chapter uses vines as a crafting material: two vines and one stick become rope so the nail drop by the hub stairs is safe. Cutting roots is a different page.
Craft chain
Vines grow around tree roots. Rope is vines plus a stick. A hook from a sewer chest plus that rope becomes a grappling hook at the workbench. You need the hook for at least one secret: the doll above the spider-prison stairs.
Whether vine nodes respawn is not in the notes I read. I am not claiming a farm.
